RESEARCH GOAL 1

Flexible Neural Implantable Device

Unraveling complex neural circuits through various modalities is of great value in identifying neurodegenerative diseases in patients with chronic pain.

Key factors for advancing neuroscience include directions for improving the resolution of brain signal recording or stimulation, and the need for flexibility to resolve mechanical mismatch between the brain tissue and device.

RESEARCH GOAL 2

Flexible, Skin-integrated Bio-electronics

Flexible & stretchable bio-compatible electronic systems in wearable electronics, are the most important and basic factor for bio-electronics.

Conventional rigid system has limitations of inability to form tissue interfaces due to Young’s modulus mismatch, causing poor device capabilities and noises.

To overcome this limitations, flexible and stretchable electronics with low modulus with the same or better performance, such called ‘Skin-integrated Bio-electronics’ is being studied.

RESEARCH GOAL 3

Neuronal Circuit Investigation

All human cognition, memory, and behavior are derived from the signal transmission of the nervous system. In other words, to analyze neuronal disorders, a thorough understanding of the complex nervous system is necessary.

In order to resolve various neurodegenerative diseases, extracellular/intracellular neural circuit investigation is performed.
